My name is Julia, I am a jeweler and creator of the Ymu brand.
The daughter of a cabinetmaker, I grew up in a workshop, immersed in the world of manual work and creation from my childhood. I always knew I would pursue crafts, driven by this deep desire to give shape to my ideas and create objects that carry a soul.
With Ymu, I wanted to go beyond aesthetics. Each piece of jewelry I design is designed to awaken the senses, to be handled, touched, and felt, in an approach where the sensory dimension is essential.
I also have a strong commitment to eco-responsibility and sustainability. From raw materials to manufacturing, packaging, printing, and shipping, everything is designed to reduce our environmental and social impact.
Beyond the material aspect, my brand aims to be inclusive. My jewelry is designed for everyone, without distinction. It is designed to adapt to each person, regardless of their history, their body, or their identity. This is an approach that is particularly close to my heart, because it resonates with my own experiences and my way of perceiving the world.
The brand's DNA
-
Manipulate, play, explore.
It is in your hands that my jewelry comes to life.
Mobile and modular, my jewelry is designed as objects to be manipulated, explored, and appropriated as an extension of your body.
Turn them, move them, slide them between your fingers and find comfort in every sensation.
-
Affirm your uniqueness.
With unisex, universal and timeless jewelry.
We see everywhere the same trendy gold-plated necklace, the same ring set with a synthetic stone, the same industrial earrings on exclusively female bodies.
No matter who you are or where you come from, my jewelry is designed to fit you and not the other way around.
-
Choose to wear ethics.
I make each piece of jewelry by hand from recycled silver.
In a world where some brands hide industrial and automated production methods behind a carefully crafted image, I have chosen transparency.
Proud of my profession, I want to prove that we can make modern, sustainable and ethical artisanal jewelry at fair prices.
Values
-
Ethics
Low ecological and social impact.
I use silver recycled in France rather than imported materials, often extracted under inhumane exploitation conditions and with a devastating environmental impact. -
Universality
Gender-neutral and for all bodies.
It is important to me that everyone can wear my jewelry, and that it enhances you regardless of gender, body type, age, ethnicity or cultural background. -
Sustainability
Anti-fast fashion approach.
I design my jewelry to last and evolve with you: once you adopt one, it's for life. If you tire of it, you can send it back to me so it can be recycled. -
Freedom
Being yourself, beyond norms and conventions.
I don't identify with a fashion that dictates who or how we should be.
I create pieces in very small series that will make you unique.
Eco-responsibility
Everything has been designed to make Ymu an eco-responsible brand:
- Raw material : I source from a French refiner who collects and recycles waste from the jewelry industry.
- Manufacturing : In the workshop, I use natural products and avoid anything toxic.
- Packaging : the jewelry is packaged in FSC cardboard boxes made in Europe.
- Printing : I use recycled paper and eco-friendly inks.
- Shipping : The packages are made from recycled cardboard and produced by a small French company, which also provides me with wadding made from recycled fabric scraps for packing the packages.
Do your part too:
- Be sure of your order to avoid a return .
- Prefer delivery to a relay point to home delivery.
- Recycle or reuse packaging .
- Send me your jewelry back for recycling .
